The edges take shape

I have finished the main body of the wrap! For a minute, I thought the end points were going to be different, but no. I did it correctly. I am so very pleased with it and myself. The majesty of the unwoven ends is a testament to my hours of labor! Gaze upon their glory and be awed!

Now to the borders. I’m not going to torture myself with the full half motifs that I had planned. I do like them better and can see the way to do a border around them, but I need this project to be finished, so I am not going to do it because it would be more complex and fiddly. I’m going to make friendly part motifs with flat out facing sides so I can work a fast and easy border. I need to stop forcing myself to do projects in the hardest possible way. This is not a test of my emotional powers. It is a crocheted wrap. There are enough emotional traumas these days, I do not need to persecute myself with my hobbies.

So the edge bits will look like this:

I thinking for the border I will work a nice couple of rows of single crochet and maybe some cute little picots on the last row. I don’t want to detract from the overall flower motif theme with a lacy border, but we shall see. I still need to get yarn for it as there is not enough of anything I used so far to serve as a border.

Next week, I hope to have all of the edge motifs finished and be talking about adding the finishing touches. We shall pretend the ends don’t exist for a while longer. I’m happier that way. The land of delusion is full of happy thoughts!
