I finished my take on Critter Stitch’s Little Mushroom Guy! I am so happy to be done. I think she, mine is a girl, looks pretty good. I hate all of my amigurumi, so that’s really saying something. That my Little Mushroom Gal turned out at all well is a testament to the quality of the pattern from Critter Stitch. Seriously. If you want to make a mushroom guy, go get her pattern. It’s really well done.
Here is my Little Mushroom Gal from the front.
Without her hat.
The closed inside of her hat.
Her tushie.
And now on to my next project!
I have been working on the wrap for my mother again, and it’s going well. I sort of thought I would have a whole skein left to play with as a border, but that might be a lie I whisper to myself. I finally bothered to measure Hannah’s wrap that I am using as the model for this new one. The original is actually about ten feet wide. So my whimsical little plan to work each side of my mother’s wrap to three and a half feet and then work a little center back panel a foot wide is not going to cut it. I am going to have to work each side panel to at least four and a half feet with a one foot center back panel. I’m not sure what this means for the border. Perhaps I will have enough yarn left over for a line of picots. Sigh. I guess I could buy more yarn.
Speaking of Hannah’s wrap, it has a small wound I will have to repair, so that’s on my project pile now. I think I will have to make her another one at some point as she wears it a lot, so it will only see more wear.
I’m not quite sure how to repair her wrap. Should I try to redo the stitching? I could, but if so should it be in the original color or a new and exciting color to make note of its repaired form? I can’t do visible mending in other media because my sewing is toddler-esque and shouldn’t be seen anywhere, so this could be my chance.
I could create a pretty motif to encase the wound and secure the ends. But again, what color? I’m not sure. I think Hannah will have to decide. I’ll know by next week! See you then for an update!
